Dawson City will get a dose of unfiltered stand-up comedy this Saturday when the Vancouver Island-based Comedy Misfits take the stage at The Drunken Goat Taverna. The 90-minute show, part of the group’s Bad Apples Comedy Tour, is the first standalone comedy event listed on Dawson City’s summer calendar this year.
The Comedy Misfits – Chris Basso, Brett McCrindle, and Nina Wilder – are known for personal, awkward, and occasionally gross humour that digs into dating, work, and getting older. Their material is self-described as “the unfiltered stuff you probably shouldn’t say at family dinner,” and the Dawson City stop is billed as “a night of laughter under the Midnight Sun.”
The show happens June 20 from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm at The Drunken Goat Taverna, the Greek restaurant and bar at 950 Second Avenue. Advance tickets were $20, with door tickets set at $25 for the 19-and-over event. However, the online ticket page now shows the show as sold out, pointing to strong local appetite for live comedy.
The Comedy Misfits are on a cross-Canada tour with nearly 100 shows booked in 2026, touching British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and the Maritimes before reaching the Yukon. The Dawson City date lands on a busy weekend that also sees the end of the Yukon River Quest and the eve of National Indigenous Peoples Day, which may have helped fill the 90-seat venue.
The event is listed under Arts and Culture on the town’s official events calendar, which is managed by the Klondike Visitors Association. While Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall is undergoing an entertainment transition this summer under Fireweed Entertainment, the Comedy Misfits show is happening independently at the Drunken Goat, which locals know as a spot that regularly hosts live music and trivia.
