Didsbury families looking for summer activities can now register their kids for the Didsbury Municipal Library Summer Library Crew, a free program mixing arts, science, and social play running weekly from July 8 to August 21, 2026.
Registration opened June 19 for the program, which is open to children 5 to 12 years old. Sessions run Wednesdays through Fridays at 10:30 a.m. to noon and 2:30 to 4 p.m., with no activities the week of August 5 to 7.
The program has three themes: CREATE on Wednesdays with art projects like string art and painting, EXPLORE on Thursdays with building challenges such as paper towers and LEGO ziplines, and CONNECT on Fridays with group games including trivia and board games. Activities change each week through the six-week summer run.
Families can only pick one time slot per day, and a separate form is needed for each child. Research shows that structured summer programs like this one can help combat summer learning loss by keeping kids engaged with creative, building, and social play.
