Didsbury Municipal Library is rolling out its fall schedule with a free comic convention and a financial literacy workshop. The library, Alberta’s oldest little library, will help host MVC Comic-Con on Saturday, September 12, at the Mountain View Heritage Center. A week later, on September 17, the Money Matters program will help residents take control of their finances. Registration is required for the workshop.
MVC Comic-Con runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is hosted by libraries in Olds, Carstairs, Sundre, and Didsbury. The event is free to attend and features vendors, guest panels, cosplay contests, superhero storytime, and D&D character creation. Free shuttle buses will run from Didsbury and other Mountain View County communities, supported by FCSS.
The library’s fall program lineup launches September 14. Offerings include Crafternoon, Senior’s Games, Munchkin Mania, Teen Scene, Adventure Babies, and Teen Drop-In sessions. Residents can find the full schedule on the library’s events page.
On September 17 at 6:30 p.m., mortgage broker Patricia McKean will lead Money Matters: Making Cents of it All at the library. The session covers budgeting, credit tips, and home ownership goals. Space is limited to 20 people, so registration is required. The program is sponsored by CALP (Community Adult Learning Program).
