The forecast for tonight, August 24, calls for partly cloudy skies becoming clear with a low of plus 4°C and a risk of frost. It is a cool start to what will be an otherwise pleasant week in central Alberta.
Tuesday through Friday are expected to be sunny, with daytime highs climbing from 24°C on Tuesday to 29°C by Thursday, August 27. Wednesday is forecast to reach 28°C, and Friday will also stay sunny. These conditions are ideal for late August outdoor plans, with temperatures running several degrees above the seasonal normals of 20°C for a high and 6°C for a low.

This forecast follows a severe thunderstorm warning on August 23 for the Carstairs area, which also placed Didsbury under a severe thunderstorm watch, where large hail, strong wind gusts, and heavy rain were possible. Earlier in August, air quality warnings were issued for Mountain View County, including Didsbury, due to wildfire smoke from British Columbia. Didsbury is a town of approximately 5,070 residents located in Mountain View County, roughly halfway between Calgary and Red Deer.
