The Rural Municipality of Dauphin in Manitoba’s Parkland region has issued a road closure and high-water advisory effective June 29, 2026, warning drivers that flooding may make some routes impassable. The advisory, posted on the municipality’s website, urges residents to check current conditions before heading out as heavy rain continues to soak the area.
Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre says widespread rainfall of 60 to 100 millimetres is possible over the next few days, prompting an overland flood warning for parts of western Manitoba. Dauphin Lake water levels could rise by one to three feet as runoff makes its way into the lake, according to the province’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre.
This latest flood threat comes after weeks of severe weather across the region. Since early June, multiple rounds of thunderstorms have battered western Manitoba, with one storm on June 9 dumping up to 255 millimetres of rain near Stonewall and triggering tornado warnings, hail, and damaging winds. Several municipalities in the southern Interlake have already declared local states of emergency.
