People who want to march or enter a float in the 2026 Grand Street Parade at The Big Ex in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, can now download an entry form from the exhibition’s website. The parade takes place Tuesday, July 28 at 6 p.m., kicking off a week of events from July 27 to August 2 at the South Shore Exhibition Grounds at 50 Exhibition Drive.
The entry form is a downloadable PDF on the Big Ex Grand Street Parade page. In past years, participants had to contact the exhibition office directly to sign up. Posting the form online makes it easier for community clubs, float builders, and local organizations to join the parade.
The parade starts at the NSCC Lunenburg Campus on High Street and follows a route along Empire Street, York Street, and Dufferin Street before ending near Exhibition Drive and Jubilee Road. Organizers have set aside a Sensory Friendly Zone from the NSCC campus to Empire Street for people with sensory sensitivities.
Parade participants are reminded that floats leaving the end of the route and entering public roads must follow the Motor Vehicle Act. The exhibition warns that failing to do so could lead to charges.
The Big Ex is the largest agricultural exhibition in Nova Scotia and has been held nearly every year since 1891. The 2026 edition marks 135 years since the first exhibition. Alongside the parade, the week features livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, arts and crafts, commercial booths, and a midway run by Campbell Amusements from July 29 to August 2.
