Beaumont, Alberta, is in for a stretch of pleasant summer weather this week, with mostly sunny skies and daytime highs climbing into the high 20s before clouds and a chance of showers arrive Wednesday, according to Environment Canada.
Monday afternoon will see a high of 24 degrees C under a mix of sun and cloud. Tuesday warms up to 26 degrees C, but there is a 30 percent chance of late-day showers and a risk of thunderstorms. Wednesday turns cloudy with a high of 23 degrees C, offering a brief cooldown before the heat returns.
Thursday and Friday are expected to be the warmest days of the week, with sunny conditions and highs reaching 29 degrees C. The weekend continues the trend, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures holding at 28 degrees C Saturday and Sunday. No weather alerts are currently in effect for the area.
The calm forecast is a sharp contrast to the severe weather that hit Beaumont just three weeks ago. On June 21, the city issued an emergency alert telling residents to stop all non-essential water use after heavy rain overwhelmed the wastewater system, causing localized flooding and sewer backups. That alert was lifted on June 25.
Environment Canada has predicted warmer-than-normal temperatures across most of the country for the summer of 2026, with El Niño conditions expected to develop.
