No weather alerts are currently in effect for the area, but residents should watch for changing conditions if they plan to be outside. The wet and windy start comes during what meteorologists describe as the peak of severe weather season for southern Manitoba.

Wednesday brings sunshine and 27°C, Thursday reaches 30°C, and Friday sees a mix of sun and cloud also hitting 30°C. By Saturday, the high is expected to hit 34°C under a mix of sun and cloud.
This summer has already been an active one for severe weather across the region. Slow-moving storm systems have triggered flooding in southwestern Manitoba communities, and multiple tornadoes have touched down, including an EF-3 twister with wind speeds up to 230 km/h near Rossburn late last month.
