The Province of Manitoba has opened a Disaster Financial Assistance program for Neepawa homeowners, farms, businesses, and non-profit groups hit by the June 2026 heavy rains and overland flooding. The program helps cover uninsured losses, but residents should contact their insurance provider first. Full program details are posted by the Town of Neepawa.
Property owners need to document all damage with photographs, keep records of cleanup and repair work, and hold onto every receipt and invoice related to recovery. Applications can be submitted online through the Manitoba EMO website or in person at the Town of Neepawa Civic Administration Office at 275 Hamilton Street. The deadline to apply is September 9, 2026.
The June 29-30 storm dumped 101.4 mm of rain on Neepawa, causing widespread flooding that forced a campground evacuation and closed Highway 5 between town and Highway 261. The province set up the DFA program to help communities recover from this and other June flood events across western Manitoba.
