Taber’s biggest celebration of the year will return for its 41st edition on August 27 to 29, 2026, with a parade, midway, and free family fun filling Confederation Park in Taber, Alberta.
The Taber and District Chamber of Commerce says the three-day Cornfest kicks off with its signature parade on Thursday, August 27 at 4:00 PM. Community groups, charities, sports teams, and non-profits can enter the parade for free. Entry forms are due by August 20, 2026.
Held annually on the last full weekend in August, Cornfest is known as Western Canada’s largest free family festival. It draws thousands of visitors to the Corn Capital of Canada, where long sunshine hours help produce the region’s famous sweet corn.
After the parade, the festival continues with a midway, live music, a fun run, chili cook-off, car show, corn-eating competitions, and fireworks. Most main events take place at Confederation Park, at 50th Avenue and 50th Street.
Last year’s 40th anniversary marked four decades since the community celebration began in 1985. The Town of Taber has run the Cornfest Fun Run since 1992, adding to a weekend lineup that now includes carnival rides and professional entertainment.
