Chestermere, Alberta, residents can enjoy two big community events in mid-August as the Wild Rose Shows Summer Carnival and the Summer Music in the Park festival run side by side from August 14 to 16, 2026.
The carnival, operated by the family-run Wild Rose Shows, will be held at the Chestermere Recreation Centre at 201 W Chestermere Drive. It runs all three days with rides, games, and midway treats. All-day ride bracelets are $50 at the gate, but advance coupons are available for $45 at City Hall reception, with credit or debit payment only.
Just down the road at John Peake Memorial Park, 121 Chestermere Station Way, the Summer Music in the Park takes place August 14 and 15. Nine musical acts perform over the two days on the lakeside stage: Just Wingin It, Dirty Shirley, and Lil Brown Jug on Friday, followed by Cat Tyler, Pistol Noon, Cream and Sugar Band, Twist of Fate, Cafe Rose, and the Greg Vardy Band on Saturday. A licensed beer garden, food trucks like Tasty Lemonade, Tasty Tacos & Churros, The Chaatbar and Parontha Place, The Blues Delight, and il forno vaga bondo will be on site, with Kona Ice and Fusion Box joining Saturday. A vendor market featuring local makers such as Ducks & Doodads, Donatella’s Bakery, and BOXCAR APPAREL runs Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
The City of Chestermere is promoting the two events as a full weekend of family fun. The Chestermere Regional Community Association, which operates the recreation centre, is the non-profit that serves as the primary recreational hub for the city and the MD of Rockyview.
Wild Rose Shows has been a travelling Alberta carnival since 1967, bringing nearly 50 rides and attractions to communities across the province. The company made its first Chestermere stop in 2023 at John Peake Memorial Park. This year’s carnival shifts to the recreation centre grounds, while the music fest takes advantage of the park’s lakefront setting.
