Watson Lake is set to enjoy a stretch of sunny weather this week after a couple of days with a risk of thunderstorms, according to Environment Canada.
Thursday, July 30, 2026 will be sunny with a high of 22 C, followed by a clear night with a low of 7 C. Friday, July 31, 2026 is also expected to be sunny with a high of 20 C.
The pleasant conditions come after a showery start to the week. On Tuesday, there was a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon with a high of 19 C, and foggy conditions were observed at the Watson Lake Airport in the morning. Wednesday carries a 60 per cent chance of showers and another risk of afternoon thunderstorms, with a high of 18 C.
Residents looking to head outdoors will have ample daylight to do so. Sunrise on Tuesday was at 5:06 a.m. and sunset is at 10:16 p.m. The warm and sunny days will be close to normal for this time of year, as July highs usually reach around 21 C and lows drop to 9 C.
Showers could return for the weekend, however. Saturday and Sunday both have a 30 per cent chance of precipitation, with highs of 19 C and 22 C.
