Beausejour, Manitoba is inviting residents to a new evening event called Dance Through The Daylilies on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The free gathering runs from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the picnic area of the Beausejour Daylily Gardens, the world’s coldest display garden of its kind.
The Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation (BBDC) organized the event as a way for people to enjoy one of the community’s signature attractions. DJ Damonrae will provide a playlist of summer tunes, and attendees can request their favourite songs in advance through a dedicated playlist.
There is no admission fee, but donations will be collected for the Daylily Gardens. The event is open to all ages, and organizers are encouraging people to dress up in wild and colourful outfits. A face painter will also be on hand.
The Beausejour Daylily Gardens feature over 600 daylily cultivars, hundreds of irises, peonies, lilies, and ornamental shrubs and trees. The gardens also include prairie hardy fruit trees, a picnic site, lawn checkers, and bocce. Established in 2002, they have grown into a world-class showcase that is the only American Hemerocallis Society display garden on the Canadian Prairies.
The BBDC, formed in 1986 through a partnership between the Town of Beausejour and the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, has served the region for over 30 years. The new dance event adds an evening social option for local families, making use of the gardens’ scenic setting at First Street North, directly off Highway 44.
