Camrose, Alberta is in for a pleasant midweek stretch before conditions turn cooler and wetter through the weekend, according to Environment Canada. Residents can expect a mix of sun and cloud on Wednesday with temperatures reaching 24°C and a humidex near 27, making it a great day for outdoor activities.
Thursday will remain warm with a high near the seasonal average of 23°C, but the overnight low is forecast to dip to a chilly 6°C. That is a few degrees below the normal August low of 9°C, so anyone with early morning plans on Friday may want an extra layer.
The dry weather holds through Friday, but conditions start to change Saturday night. Environment Canada forecasts a 60 percent chance of showers moving in and lingering through Sunday, with periods of rain possible. Saturday’s high is expected to be 20°C, with Monday’s high dropping to 19°C. Sunday night could also see a low of 11°C under cloudy skies with a chance of showers.
These temperatures are right in line with typical August weather in Camrose, where average highs sit around 23°C and lows near 9°C. This summer, however, has been notably wet across central Alberta. Edmonton, located about 90 kilometres northwest of Camrose, has already recorded over 530 millimetres of rain in June and July, breaking the previous record set in 1953. Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor noted that 2026 has been “exceptionally wet and exceptionally stormy,” with moisture acting as “gasoline” for thunderstorm development.
The unsettled pattern is not expected to cause extreme conditions in Camrose, but residents with weekend plans are encouraged to have a backup indoor option or keep rain gear handy. The early part of the week offers the best window for enjoying the sunshine before the showers return.
