Visitors to the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre in Beaumont, Alberta, will notice higher costs at the door, as a slate of fee increases took effect August 1, 2026. The changes, which touch everything from daily admissions to annual memberships and child minding, were approved by Beaumont City Council on November 27, 2025, through the city’s 2026 Fees and Charges bylaw.
Most rates are up roughly five per cent. An adult daily admission now costs $11.19, up from $10.66, while a family day pass rose from $24.58 to $25.81. A child’s daily admission went from $5.20 to $5.46. Monthly memberships also increased: a standard adult monthly pass is $69.62, up from $66.30, and a youth monthly membership is $41.82, up from $39.83. Annual memberships saw similar adjustments, with a standard adult annual pass climbing from $663.05 to $696.20 and an adult plus annual pass moving from $786.45 to $825.77.
Parents using the centre’s child minding service will also pay more. The one-hour rate is now $9.75, up from $9.28, and punch passes have increased. A 30-hour punch pass, for instance, jumped from $237 to $249. Group admission rates for clubs, schools, or parties of 10 or more rose from $4.63 to $4.86 per person.
The fee adjustments are part of a challenging 2026 budget that saw council trim a recommended 8.87 per cent tax increase down to 4.79 per cent. Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak said the budget “limits the impact on homeowners, provides resources to keep our neighbourhoods safe and orderly, and begins rebuilding our savings” despite pressures from inflation, tariffs, and reduced provincial funding. Beaumont remains one of Alberta’s fastest-growing cities, with its population up 23 per cent over the past five years to more than 24,500 people, putting extra demand on recreation services.
Alongside the new rates, the city has released its 2026 Fall Activity Guide, covering programs from September 1 through December 31. Residents can browse offerings and register online through Click-it or by calling Guest Services at 780-929-7946. All fees are subject to GST.
