Pitt Meadows drivers can expect delays on Hammond Road until early September as the city repaves a stretch of the busy route. Work began Monday, August 10, and is scheduled to wrap up Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Crews will be on site between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, about three hours per shift. The City of Pitt Meadows says traffic delays are expected in the area during that time.
The city is asking drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all traffic signs and directions from onsite crews. The repaving is part of the city’s annual Capital Works Program, which budgets for road maintenance and other infrastructure upgrades each year.
Hammond Road has been a regular focus of paving work. Similar projects took place in 2024 on Harris Road near Hammond Road, and in 2025 on Hammond Road between Harris Road and Blakely Road.
The City of Pitt Meadows’ 2026 budget includes $21.1 million in capital spending, with funding from reserve savings and grants, to cover projects such as road repaving, bridge rehabilitation, and watermain replacements.
