West Shore RCMP confirmed an 84-year-old Colwood man reported missing on August 6, 2026 has been located safe and sound.
Police thanked the public and community members who assisted with the search and helped locate the man. The confirmation came roughly one week after his disappearance.
The West Shore detachment serves Colwood, Highlands, Langford, Metchosin, View Royal, Songhees First Nation, and Esquimalt First Nation. Missing persons cases are an operational priority for the West Shore RCMP, and police note that in Canada between 70,000 and 80,000 people are reported missing each year. Most are found within seven days.
