Beaumont residents should take care with how they sort their waste until August 21. That is because GFL Environmental is carrying out a two-week waste audit across the city.
Crews are checking grey waste carts, green organics carts, and blue recycling bags on regular collection days. Zone B was audited the week of August 10 to 14. Zone A is being audited this week, August 17 to 21.
If a bin or bag is left uncollected and has a GFL sticker, it means improper items were found inside or it was too full. Residents can fix the problem and have it collected on their next regular pickup day.
The audit is part of the city’s work to improve sorting, cut contamination, and meet sustainability goals. GFL staff are in neighbourhoods during the audit to answer questions about how to sort waste properly.
