Beaumont residents have until today, August 20, 2026, to complete a quick online survey that will help shape the city’s 2027 municipal budget. The three-minute survey asks what services and priorities matter most, giving locals a direct say before council sets next year’s tax rates and spending plan.
“The City wants to hear from you as it plans the 2027 budget,” states the City of Beaumont. “Take the three-minute online survey and share what’s most important to you and where the City should focus its attention.”
The survey comes at a critical time for the fast-growing community. Beaumont’s population jumped 6.3% in 2025 to 26,305 people, making it one of Alberta’s fastest-growing municipalities. Rising costs for materials, labour, and services are putting pressure on the programs and infrastructure residents rely on every day, from roads to recreation to public safety.
The city is also facing financial strains from inflation, reduced provincial funding, and past budget shortfalls that have depleted reserves. The 2026 budget included an additional $2.8 million transfer to begin rebuilding those reserves. Council approved a 4.79% tax revenue increase in that budget, down from an initially recommended 8.87%. For a home assessed at $500,000, that meant an extra $164.74 per year, or about $13.73 per month.
City administration will use the survey feedback along with council direction and the municipality’s strategic plan to prepare a draft budget. Council will then review the draft during public meetings before final approval. Residents can complete the survey online at this link until the end of August 20.
