Halton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect following a bank robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Brant Street in Burlington, Ontario, on August 20, 2026.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., a lone male entered the bank at 519 Brant Street, jumped the counter, and stole rolls of coin and cash from drawers before fleeing through a rear door to a waiting dark-coloured sedan. No weapons were seen and no injuries occurred, though bank staff and a customer were present at the time.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, with short light-coloured or brown hair and notably yellow, bad teeth. He was wearing a grey hoodie.
Police are requesting anyone with security or dashcam footage from the Brant Street area around 5:40 p.m. to come forward. The incident is being investigated by the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau.
This robbery comes amid a recent spike in bank robberies across Halton Region. Halton Regional Police have formed a Regional Robbery Task Force in response to a pattern of robberies that have been “escalating in both frequency and violence.” Earlier this year, on April 28, 2026, a Burlington man was arrested and charged after a separate robbery at an RBC branch on Brant Street.
