The St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce has confirmed October 15, 2026 as the date for its annual Regional Job Fair at the St. Paul Recreation Centre. The event gives job seekers a chance to meet local employers and connect with hiring opportunities in the area.
The job fair runs as a day of networking, bringing together employers and job seekers from St. Paul and the surrounding Lakeland region. Hosted by the St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Alberta and Elk Point chambers, the event aims to address staffing challenges faced by local businesses.
The previous regional job fair in February 2026 drew more than 200 job seekers over two days, with about 40 businesses taking part. Organizers hope this fall event will have a similar turnout. Executive Director Yvonne Weinmeier has said these job fairs help connect employers with qualified workers and give students and other job seekers a chance to explore local opportunities.
Labour market pressures remain a concern in Alberta, with the provincial unemployment rate at 6.9 percent as of June 2026. Events like the Regional Job Fair provide a free, direct way for employers and job seekers to connect. The St. Paul Recreation Centre offers a spacious hall that can accommodate up to 600 people, making it a suitable venue for the event.
Details on how to register as a business or attend as a job seeker are available on the St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce website.
