Brantford Police Service is investigating a shooting at a home on Powell Road early Friday, August 28, 2026, when multiple rounds were fired at the residence while people were inside. No injuries were reported, and police believe the incident was targeted rather than random.
The call came in at approximately 4:15 a.m. Media reports citing other sources say up to 14 rounds struck the home’s garage and at least two vehicles. Officers later recovered a black sedan believed to be the suspect’s vehicle.
Investigators are asking residents in the Powell Road and Longboat Run area to check doorbell cameras, security cameras, and dash-cam footage from between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. for anything that may show the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information can call police or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
“This incident is believed to be targeted and does not pose a risk to public safety,” police stated in a news release. The investigation remains active under case number 26-34837.
