Young hockey players in Manitoba have a chance to earn a spot on the Pembina Valley Twisters when the junior team holds its 2026/2027 training camp and tryouts starting September 2, 2026, at the Morris MultiPlex in Morris.
The team, which plays in the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League for players aged 17 to 21, will run five tryout sessions through September 9. The first session runs from 6 to 9 PM on September 2, followed by sessions on September 4 (6-9 PM), September 5 (2-5 PM), September 6 (2-5 PM), and September 9 (6:45-8:15 PM).
The registration fee for the training camp is $150. Players interested in trying out can contact General Manager John Mintenko at 204-216-1717 or Head Coach Chris Unger at 204-361-6442 to register.
The Twisters will then play their first exhibition game on September 12, 2026, against the Transcona Railer Express at 12:45 PM.
The Pembina Valley Twisters have called Morris home since 2006, and the team has won three league championships in 2007-2008, 2012-2013, and 2018-2019.
Last season, the Twisters finished 10th in the ten-team league with a 7-34-2 record, but General Manager John Mintenko and Head Coach Chris Unger are leading the rebuilding effort as the team looks to return to competitive form.
