Tillsonburg residents will have a chance to hear directly from the people running for mayor and council at an All-Candidates Forum on September 29, 2026. The free event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lions Auditorium in the Tillsonburg Community Centre at 45 Hardy Ave.
The forum is co-hosted by the Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce and the Tillsonburg Post. Unlike a traditional debate, it will use a conversational question-and-answer format. A moderator will guide the discussion while candidates explain their priorities, perspectives, and approach to local leadership.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and no registration or Chamber membership is required. The event is designed to give voters a clearer picture of how each candidate plans to tackle issues affecting Tillsonburg households and businesses.
Two candidates are seeking the mayor’s seat: incumbent Deb Gilvesy and current town councillor Kelly Spencer. Twelve people are running for six councillor positions in the October 26, 2026 municipal election. Advance voting runs from October 13 to October 25, 2026.
The forum gives residents an early opportunity to compare candidates before advance polls open. The Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce serves as the community’s business advocate and has hosted similar forums in past municipal elections.
