The Rocky Museum in Rocky Mountain House is inviting residents to step back in time during its fall weekend events on September 25 and 26, 2026. Located at 5406 48 Street, the community history museum will open its doors for anyone wanting to explore local pioneer heritage.
Visitors can tour authentic exhibits including a one-room schoolhouse from 1923, a 1930s log home, and the 1911 Meadows Forestry cabin. Museum staff also demonstrate a working 1917 Amherst player piano, one of the collection’s highlights.
The museum showcases the stories of early settlers who homesteaded in the area, worked in lumber camps and sawmills, and sent their children to one-room schoolhouses. It is a recognized member of the Alberta Museums Association.
The museum is fully accessible and offers over 4,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibit space. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the adjoining Helen Hunley Memorial Park.
