The Rotary Club of Ajax is celebrating a record-breaking 2026 Ribfest that drew over 50,000 people to Ajax Downs Casino across three days in June, and the volunteer group is already rolling out a full slate of community events for September.
According to the Rotary Club of Ajax, the June 5 to 7 event was a fundraising success thanks to patrons, sponsors, ribbers, food vendors, market vendors, music performers, and countless volunteers. Nearly 70 years of service have seen the club donate more than $1 million to hundreds of local groups, organizations, and not-for-profits.
Residents can support that work by attending upcoming events. The 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament tees off on September 10, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Spring Creek Golf Club in Pickering. On September 21, the club observes International Day of Peace, followed by the District 7070 Rotary Foundation Walk on September 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Anyone curious about joining the club or supporting local charities can attend a Club Open House on September 29, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at MacEachnie Family Centre.
The club is led by President Dale Pratt, with Paul Egli as President Elect, Jim Hinnecke as Secretary and Past President, and Keicia Campbell as Treasurer. The parent district, District 7070, includes 62 Rotary and Rotaract clubs and more than 1,864 members throughout Southern Ontario.
