The Amherst Police Department is highlighting an ongoing case involving a holistic practitioner previously charged with sexual assault following an investigation into a local business in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Mangala Ranasinghe, who was 59 at the time of his arrest, was taken into custody on November 27, 2024, after police received a complaint from a woman who had visited his health clinic.
The incident allegedly took place in October 2024 while the woman was at Healing Touch Holistic. Following the report, officers from the Major Crime Unit carried out a search at the business and arrested Ranasinghe.
