The Amherst Ramblers are one win away from moving on in the playoffs after coming back from a three-goal deficit to beat the Summerside Western Capitals 4-3 on March 23, 2026. This victory in Game 5 gives the team from Amherst, Nova Scotia, a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven semi-final series.
After falling behind 3-0 in the first period, the Ramblers began their comeback with a shorthanded goal from Mark Corbett late in the second period. Anthony Gaudet, who was recently named the league player of the year, provided three assists during the game, including the pass that led to Cooper Cormier’s winning goal with less than four minutes left to play.
Goaltender Hudson Bradley made 32 saves to help secure the win, including stopping all 18 shots he faced during the final two periods of the match. Bradley joined the Ramblers in August 2025 after being acquired from the Summerside team earlier in the season.
The series now returns to the Amherst Stadium for Game 6 on March 26, 2026, where the Ramblers have a chance to win the series and advance. The winner will continue their pursuit of a league championship before the national Centennial Cup tournament begins in May.
Gaudet’s performance in the game added to his record-breaking season, where he led the league with 89 total points. His 64 assists this year set a new franchise record for the Ramblers, passing a mark that had stood since 2007.
