The Brian Mulroney Institute of Government at St. Francis Xavier University is hosting a public session called Reflections From the Floor on March 9, 2026, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The event features guest speaker The Hon. Lisa Raitt, PC, a StFX alumna (BSc ’89) and current Chair of the Board of Governors, who will share her experiences as a federal Cabinet Minister and Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition.
The meeting will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room 4023 of Mulroney Hall as part of the institute’s regular Lunch and Learn program. It provides a way for students, faculty, and the local community to engage with leaders and gain expert knowledge on public policy and governance.
These sessions are designed to be informal and easy to attend, focusing on the practical challenges of governing and community life. The goal is to make sure residents have access to direct information about the policies that affect their daily lives and the chance to network with experts.
