A sharp temperature drop is expected on Friday, April 10, when highs will dip to 5°C. The day will see periods of snow or rain, and there is a risk of freezing rain before morning that could result in slippery road conditions.
The City of Barrie maintains protocols to declare a significant weather event during hazardous conditions. These measures allow for extended response times for road and sidewalk maintenance when severe winter weather makes it difficult to meet standard clearance levels.
Conditions will improve heading into the weekend. Saturday, April 11, is expected to be sunny with a high of 8°C. A warming trend will follow, with cloudier conditions arriving Sunday and temperatures climbing to reach approximately 18°C by Monday, April 13.
