Residents in Orillia have a new centralized location for job search help and career planning, as Georgian College Career & Employment Community Services has moved into the County of Simcoe Social and Community Services office at 250 West Street North.
The new hub, which began serving the community on April 1, 2026, officially brings together several provincial and regional support programs under one roof. By co-locating with existing services such as Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program, the partnership aims to make it easier for people to access employment assistance and social supports in a single location.
This initiative is supported by EmployNext powered by Serco, which serves as the local manager for employment services in the region, with funding provided by the provincial Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between the college and the county, which was further strengthened during the provincial transition to integrated employment services in 2024.
