The Beaumont Horse Trials are returning to the local fairgrounds in Beaumont, Alberta, on June 6 and June 7, 2026. This two-day event marks the official return of the competition after it was cancelled in 2025 because of a scheduling conflict.
Organized by the Beaumont & District Agricultural Society and the Clearwater Valley Pony Club, the event is expected to host more than 150 horses. The competition includes three specific categories for riders and their animals: dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country riding.
The event is a major part of a regional competition series known as the Northern Hat Trick. This series encourages riders to participate in three different trials across Northern Alberta, with prizes available for those who complete all three events.
To ensure the safety of all animals on the grounds, owners must provide proof that their horses have been vaccinated against Equine Influenza and Equine Herpes Virus. These vaccinations must have been administered within six months of the competition dates.
