The park features a water play structure where kids can run through sprays and fountains. Parents can watch from nearby picnic areas or the gazebo, and there are change rooms and restrooms on site. The spray park sits within the 51-acre Four Seasons Park, which also includes a playground, ball diamonds, and Don Sparrow Lake, a small trout pond at the centre of the park.
There is no charge to use the spray park, making it an affordable option for local families looking to beat the heat. Environment Canada forecasts temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius over the next few days, with overnight lows near 14 degrees. The City of Beaumont notes that during very hot weather, hours may be reduced for water conservation.
The spray park has deep roots in the community. It was built in 2001 after a group of local moms from a Beaumont babysitting co-op launched the idea. With a budget of $600,000, the project received $200,000 from the town, government grants, and close to $160,000 raised by residents through fundraisers like a carnival and bench sales. At its opening, it was considered the largest water spray park in western Canada.
