Beausejour, Manitoba residents can now see exactly what kept local RCMP officers busy during the week of July 20-26, 2026. The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead released its weekly breakdown of calls for service for the Oakbank and Beausejour detachments, recording a total of 116 calls.
The breakdown shows 23 crimes against property, 4 crimes against person, 29 traffic-related incidents, and 60 other police activities. “Other police activities” typically includes things like false alarms, suspicious person reports, and assisting other agencies.
This data, published on the RM of Brokenhead’s website, is part of a broader push for more transparency around community safety. The RCMP launched its Transparency and Trust Strategy in 2023, aiming to make the RCMP a global leader in public safety transparency.
The Oakbank/Beausejour detachment was also selected as one of six Manitoba detachments for a new community notification system pilot project that launched May 21, 2026. That system is designed to improve direct communication with residents about public safety matters.
