The Beausejour Curling Club has released its updated fee schedule for the 2026-2027 season, with increases to league fees, drop-in curling, and volunteer bonds affecting all registered curlers in the Eastman Region.
League fees for men’s and ladies’ leagues have increased to $150, volunteer bonds have been raised to $100, and Tuesday morning drop-in curling is now $10 per week with a season pass available for $80. All other fees remain unchanged from the previous season.
Members are encouraged to submit post-dated cheques for volunteer bonds as a payment convenience. The changes come as the club prepares for its fall season at the Beausejour Sportsplex, the multi-purpose recreation complex that opened in 2002 and incorporates the club’s six-sheet curling facility, built in 1987.
The club, established in 1930, recently celebrated a milestone by hosting the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Provincial Curling Club Championship in March, where local favourite Team Richter captured the men’s title, marking the club’s first-ever Club Championship victory.
Rural Manitoba curling clubs continue to face financial pressures, with ice maintenance costs at some clubs amounting to approximately $5,000 per month on top of regular expenses. The fee adjustments reflect the club’s ongoing efforts to sustain operations and maintain its facilities for the community.
