Starting March 23, 2026, restaurants in Beausejour, Manitoba, are participating in the 14th Annual Stone Soup Fundraiser to raise money for school meal and snack programs. The event, which runs for one week, brings the community together to help feed local students while they are at school.
Local eateries including Colins’ House, Moe’s Diner, Vickie’s Snack Bar, and Le Beau Café & Fudgerie will donate $1 from every signature bowl of soup sold until March 29, 2026. This initiative is organized by the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba to help provide daily food to roughly 64,000 children across the province.
The Town of Beausejour Council is promoting the event as part of its effort to support a strong spirit of community for its 3,307 residents. Last year, the province-wide campaign raised more than $46,000 through the help of 44 participating restaurants.
These funds are used to support nutrition programs in more than 400 schools, which organizers say is important as food costs continue to rise. This work follows a record investment of $30 million from the Manitoba government during the 2024-25 school year to expand school meal programs.
