Bracebridge teens aged 13 to 17 can stay active all summer for just $50 with the return of the town’s Summer Youth Pass. Announced May 29 by the Town of Bracebridge Recreation Department, the pass gives unlimited access to recreation facilities from July 2 to August 31, 2026, at both the Bracebridge Sportsplex and Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

Pass holders get into a wide range of drop-in activities, including the Kubota North Wellness Centre and indoor track, land and water fitness classes, the indoor climbing wall, daily open gym and sports in the Proline Rentals Fieldhouse, public skates, and public and lap swims. The fieldhouse will be closed for scheduled maintenance from June 1 to June 14, but will be open when the pass becomes active in July.

For the second year, the pass includes a Bracebridge Transit Wave Card loaded with 15 rides. The transit add-on is a pilot project aimed at removing transportation barriers so more young people can get to recreation programs, while also boosting youth ridership on local buses.

The pass launch lines up with June is Recreation and Parks Month, a province-wide initiative led by Parks and Recreation Ontario and the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association that promotes the health benefits of staying active. Families can also register for summer camps, including Fun Fest Camp for ages 5 to 12, Theme Camps for ages 5 to 8, Activity Camps for ages 9 to 14, and a new Satellite Camp at Oakley Village Square for ages 5 to 12.

Residents should note the Bracebridge Fire Department has rated the fire danger as high as of May 28, with no open air burning allowed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from April 1 through October 31. No widespread outages or other alerts are in effect.
