Residents in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, can look forward to the return of community festivities as the Bridgewater Farmers’ Market prepares its lineup for 2026. The local, non-profit market, which has been serving the community since 2009, continues its tradition of hosting special events alongside its regular Saturday morning gatherings.
Operated by the Bridgewater Farmers’ Market Association, the market provides a venue for local producers who live within a 30 to 45 minute drive of the town. These vendors, including farmers, bakers, and artisans, offer goods at the market’s home base at 123 Empire Street or its summer outdoor location at the Town Centre Parking Lot at 685 King Street.
A highlight of the market season remains the Harvest Moon Night Market, a community event that has been held since at least 2013. The evening event is known for bringing together live music, food trucks, and a variety of local vendors to celebrate the bounty of the growing season.
The organizers are also working toward the goal of becoming a year-round operation. As part of this effort, the group held special indoor markets throughout the spring of 2026 to help increase access to local products beyond the traditional seasonal months. Regular Saturday markets operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from April through November.
