The Burlington Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2026 Business Excellence Awards Gala on May 13, 2026, bringing together more than 500 guests at the Burlington Convention Centre to celebrate local entrepreneurs and organizations.
The annual event recognized winners across 13 distinct categories, highlighting businesses that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and community contribution in Burlington. The awards included eight Chamber categories, the Mayor’s Resiliency Award, and four Burlington Economic Development + Tourism Awards.
Among the notable winners were Food for Life Inc., which received the Charity/Not-for-Profit Award for its 30 years of work as a food rescue hub. The Environmental Impact Award went to Anaergia Inc., a company focused on waste-to-value solutions, while the Young Entrepreneur Award was presented to Keyon Silva of FP Fitness. Other recipients included Mohawk College for the Large Business Award, Halton Industry Education Council Executive Director Kelly Hoey for the Women Business Leader Award, and Laurel Steel for the Mayor’s Resiliency Award.
Terry Caddo, who has served as the President and CEO of the Chamber since September 2021, leads the organization as it continues to represent more than 800 businesses. The event serves as a platform to highlight the diversity of the local business community, ranging from established manufacturing firms to emerging startups.
