Burlington, Ontario residents have until June 21 to tell the Burlington Public Library what they think about its services. The library’s annual Customer Satisfaction Survey is open now, and staff say every response helps shape what the library offers.
The survey runs from June 8 through June 21 and takes just a few minutes to complete. It asks 13 questions about who uses the library, how often they visit, which branches they prefer, and what their experiences have been like. Residents can fill it out online at bpl.on.ca/survey, pick up a paper copy at any branch, or call 905-639-3611 extension 1162 to complete it by phone.
Last year, more than 4,600 Burlington residents shared their views. Their input directly led to changes, including the addition of free bookable meeting rooms at library branches after the 2024 survey showed a strong demand for meeting space. The library also used feedback to guide decisions about collections and programs.
Burlington Public Library serves the community through seven branches: Central, Aldershot, Alton, Brant Hills (which is temporarily closed), Kilbride, New Appleby, and Tansley Woods. Last year, library customers borrowed more than 2.1 million books and resources, including one million physical books, and branches saw over one million in-person visits. Nearly half of Burlington’s population holds a library membership, and the library created an estimated $59 million in economic impact in 2025.
Lita Barrie, who has led the library as CEO since 2018, has emphasized that resident feedback is central to planning. The library’s strategic plan for 2026-2027, developed with community input, focuses on enhancing community well-being, inspiring discovery, and nurturing workforce culture.
The survey is available in all three formats until June 21. The library encourages anyone who uses its services to take part.
