Canadian musicians Dan Mangan and Joel Plaskett will perform at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington today, July 2, 2026. The outdoor concert takes place at Hendrie Park, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m. The event is rain or shine, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets since no seating is provided.
The show is part of the Music in the Garden series presented by Noisemaker Presents, a Hamilton-based promoter that organizes around 50 concerts each year. The stage sits in Mitchell’s Field, a natural amphitheatre about 500 metres from the RBG Centre in the 22-acre garden.
Dan Mangan is a two-time JUNO Award winner from Vancouver whose latest album, Natural Light, was recorded in a cottage with his touring band and released in May 2025. Joel Plaskett, a songwriter and producer from Nova Scotia, is marking the 20th anniversary of his band Joel Plaskett Emergency this year. The trio features Plaskett on guitar, Dave Marsh on drums, and Chris Pennell on bass.
The concert is one of several high-profile Canadian acts booked for the 2026 series, with other performers including Lido Pimienta with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Sam Roberts Band, The Barr Brothers, The Sheepdogs, BADBADNOTGOOD, and Patrick Watson.
