Halton Regional Police are asking residents for help in identifying a young girl who was seen walking by herself on August 6, 2026, in a rural part of Burlington, Ontario.
Officers received reports around noon of a girl, believed to be around 10 years old, on No. 1 Side Road just east of Guelph Line. Police say no missing person report or distress call has been filed, but they want to talk with the girl to make sure she is safe.
The Halton Regional Police Service describes her as 4 feet tall with a thin build, dark brown hair in a ponytail, and wearing an oversized dark-coloured t-shirt. An extensive search of the area using uniform officers, K9 units, and drones turned up no sign of her.
Police say it is possible the girl may have been travelling or hiking the nearby Bruce Trail. They are asking anyone who was on the trail between Guelph Line and Walkers Line on August 6 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to come forward. Video footage from that area and timeframe could also help.
