The Halton Regional Police Service investigated bomb threats targeting nine schools across the Halton Region on the morning of May 7, 2026. Officers searched the affected schools after a generic email was sent to members of local school boards, but investigators found no devices or credible evidence of danger.
The schools named in the threat included Oakville Trafalgar, Iroquois Ridge, Abbey Park, White Oaks, and Garth Webb secondary schools. Also listed were Holy Trinity, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic secondary schools, along with the private school Appleby College. While police conducted thorough building searches throughout the morning, no schools were evacuated or placed under hold-and-secure orders. Classes continued as scheduled with an increased police presence and heightened monitoring.
As of May 11, 2026, the investigation into the origin of the email remains ongoing with no arrests made. Local authorities are also looking into potential links between this incident and similar threats made against 16 schools in Toronto on May 5 and May 6, 2026, which police believe may have been initiated by the same individual.
