Residents of Camrose, Alberta, will have the opportunity to meet the teams that keep the city safe during a joint event on May 30, 2026. In collaboration with Make-A-Wish Canada, the Camrose Police Service, the Camrose Fire Department, and Alberta Health Services EMS are teaming up to host the Camrose First Responder BBQ from 11 AM to 4 PM.
The event aims to build community connections and provide residents with information about the emergency services that operate within this regional hub of approximately 20,800 people. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about the different roles these organizations play in protecting the city and the surrounding county.
The Camrose Police Service remains active in local crime prevention through initiatives like Operation Cold Start and various fraud awareness campaigns. In 2025, their dispatch centre managed over 36,000 total calls, handling both emergency 911 requests and day-to-day administrative matters.
The Camrose Fire Department, which has served the area for more than a century, uses a hybrid model of full-time and volunteer members to provide fire protection and emergency services. The department also maintains a long-standing school safety program for students from kindergarten to Grade 6. Meanwhile, the local emergency medical services station provides 24-hour ambulance support and medical transport from their facility on 47 Avenue.
