Camrose County and the City of Camrose have officially declared May 2026 as Good Neighbour Month, launching a campaign to recognize residents who contribute to the community. The annual Welcome Camrose & District Good Neighbour Campaign began on May 1, and nominations are now open to highlight individuals who demonstrate community spirit, assist those in need, and bring neighbours together.
The proclamation was issued jointly by Camrose County Reeve Cindy Trautman and City of Camrose Mayor PJ Stasko. The initiative is administered by Camrose & District FCSS, an organization that provides social support services across the region, including the city, the county, and the surrounding villages of Bawlf, Bittern Lake, Edberg, Hay Lakes, and Rosalind.
Residents are encouraged to submit nominations through the end of May. Entries are judged based on how well nominees model community spirit, help others during difficult times, and encourage local connection. Nominations can be completed online, or in person at the Camrose Public Library or the Camrose & District FCSS office located at 4821-51 Street.
Selected winners will be announced at the end of the month. Recipients will receive a certificate of appreciation and a $50 gift card, with a matching $50 gift card awarded to the resident who submitted the nomination. Additionally, winners will be featured with a photo in the local community publication, The Camrose Booster.
