The annual Camrose and District Music Festival returns to the community this month, offering five days of performances featuring local talent of all ages. Running from April 13 to April 17, 2026, the event highlights participants in music, speech arts, and dance.
First established in 1982, this year marks the 45th anniversary of the festival. Organized by the Camrose and District Music Festival, the event is designed to promote the arts by providing a friendly, workshop-style environment for both amateur children and adults to perform.
The festival operates as a member of the Alberta Music Festival Association. Participants perform in a non-competitive setting, with all students eligible for scholarships and prizes. The festival also provides a pathway for those looking to advance to provincial competitions.
The event will culminate in a Grand Concert on April 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM. This final performance will take place at the Cargill Theatre, located within the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre on the University of Alberta Augustana Campus. The centre, located in Camrose—known as The Rose City—was built through a collaboration between the City of Camrose and the University of Alberta.
