The City of Camrose is closing its seasonal winter off-leash dog park located on the south nine of the Camrose Golf Course on Sunday, April 19, 2026. This closure allows maintenance crews to begin preparing the golf course greens for the upcoming season the following day.
The winter dog park, which includes a trail system approximately two kilometres long, has been open for off-leash use while the golf course grounds were covered in snow. The Camrose Ski Club has also utilized this area during the winter months, with the front nine south of the railway tracks shared by walkers and dog owners.
Residents looking for off-leash space can continue to use the fenced area located behind the eastern segment of the Cornerstone Development at 6800-48 Avenue, which remains open year-round. This facility is accessible by driving to the back of the storefronts, ranging from the area behind Safeway to Staples.
Additionally, the Stoney Creek Valley will open as a seasonal summer off-leash area once the snow has fully cleared from the location. The City of Camrose Parks Department reminds pet owners that these spaces are multi-use facilities maintained by volunteers and encourages everyone to follow posted guidelines to ensure the areas remain available for public use.
