The Environment Canada forecast shows a high of 23°C for Monday, with a UV index of 6, which is considered high. Residents spending time outdoors are advised to wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and seek shade during peak sun hours. Overnight, the sky will clear and the temperature will drop to a low of 5°C.
Tuesday will be sunny, becoming a mix of sun and cloud near noon, with a high of 25°C, and Wednesday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week at 27°C under sunny skies. Thursday will see clearing skies with a high of 23°C, and Friday will be sunny with a high of 25°C. The weekend outlook shows increasing cloudiness on Saturday and a 60 per cent chance of showers on Sunday, August 23.
These temperatures are slightly above the historical August normals for central Alberta, which typically range from 21 to 23°C for daytime highs. Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor said August temperatures for southern Alberta are expected to be in the normal to above-normal range this year.
The settled weather provides good conditions for outdoor projects and gardening in Carstairs before a wetter pattern possibly moves in late in the weekend.
