A free two-day music festival is taking over John Peake Memorial Park in Chestermere, Alberta this weekend. Summer Music in the Park runs August 14 and 15, 2026, bringing live bands, food trucks and a beer garden to the lakeside park.
On Friday, the music starts at 5 p.m. with Just Wingin It, followed by Dirty Shirley at 6:30 p.m. and Calgary-based brass ensemble Little Brown Jug Brass at 8 p.m. Things wrap up at 10 p.m.
Saturday is a full day, running from noon to 10 p.m. with six acts. Cat Tyler opens at noon, then Pistol Noon at 1:30 p.m., Cream and Sugar Band at 3 p.m., Cafe Rose at 4:30 p.m., Twist of Fate at 6 p.m. and Greg Vardy Band closing the night at 7:45 p.m.
The City of Chestermere says the park’s main parking lot will be closed during both event days. Street parking in the area remains available, and the boat launch will stay open for those coming by water.
Families looking for more entertainment can also check out the Wild Rose Shows Carnival at the Chestermere Recreation Centre, which runs from August 14 to 16. Advance ride coupons are available at City Hall for a $5 savings.
