Families with children starting school this fall are invited to participate in a Virtual Welcome to Kindergarten Night hosted by Cochrane Public School on May 27, 2026. This online event is designed to help parents and guardians prepare for their child’s transition to the classroom.
The session will provide information on what to expect when the new school year begins. According to the District School Board Ontario North East, the 2026-2027 school year is set to begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
To be eligible for Junior Kindergarten this fall, children must turn four years old by December 31, 2026. Cochrane Public School, located at 453A Chalmers Avenue, serves students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8 and is part of a board that operates 33 schools across northeastern Ontario.
